I was only a few inches away from the tree itself. I took this image from below, looking up. I "made the ordinary extraordinary" by showing the complex system of branches within the tree, and how they have a busy quality to them. I considered the rule of thirds when I shot this. The tree is on the right side vertical third.
I was a few feet away from the basketball hoop. I took this image looking up. I "made the ordinary extraordinary" by showing the rhythmic pattern that a basketball hoop has. I considered the rule of thirds for this picture. I made sure the basketball hoop was on a third. I believe this photo is a dynamic composition because the backboard and the sky contrast well and the shadow from the net of the hoop is interesting.
I was about a foot away from this fire hydrant. I took this image looking down. I made it extraordinary because I showed the interesting shadow that came from it. I considered the rule of thirds when I took this, I put the fire hydrant on the left vertical third.
I took this a few feet away from the shadows, looking down. I made it extraordinary because I showed the pattern that was showing up on it's own, completely naturally. I did not consider rule of thirds when I shot this.
I was about a foot away from the image. I took this looking straight up. I made it extraordinary by showing the interesting patterns the shades make on the bed. I didn't really take the rule of thirds into consideration.
